Vintage leaded glass elements are from the Bon Marché department store skylight. Le Bon Marché located in Paris was the first department store in the world. Aristide Boucicaut and wife Marguerite created the department store in 1852. As the department store evolved, Boucicaunt brought in the famous architect Louis Auguste Boileau and structural engineer Gustave Eiffel to help with the design. The interior was designed by most sought-after designers in Paris, Edgar Brandt, and artisans Dilly et Labouret. The design embodies not only beautiful craftsmanship, but it is a piece of history.
