These wonderfully ornate wrought iron elevator panels
were salvaged from 150 Nassau St. in lower Manhattan.
They originally served as part of an elevator assembly,
including doors and panels, when they were first installed
in the American Tract Society Building. Construction on
the building began around 1894 and ended 1896. The
23-story neo-Renaissance building was designed with a
U-shaped plan and a light court on the south side. The
semicircular lobby had marble decor and a coffered ceiling.
It was here that these beautiful elements served as part
of a manually operated elevator. The panels pictured on
the right have been restored by the artisans in our LIC
factory. Restoration included the installation of frosted glass
panels located behind the detailed ornamentation. Having
many applications, the panels can be custom tailored to fit
your design needs. They are shown here as a functional
partition with a hinged door. Please call our Franklin Street
location for further information on custom restoration. The
iron panels are part of a lot in varying condition. Additional
panels are available. Pricing shown above is per-panel and
pre-restoration.
