French Drafting Table
Steel Drafting Tables

With the mechanics of drafting largely automated by the advent of CAD, the original use for a drafting table has become relatively obsolete. We have a variety of different styles of drafting tables available and all have been restored to create desirable pieces that are works of art in their own right. Fabricated entirely from steel and/or cast iron, their original old-world wooden tops have been replaced with modern acrylic tops. Today, these beautifully crafted tables are an ideal artifact on which to display artwork or architectural plans.

The French Drafting Table, circa 1900, was an early industrial design, fabricated from cast iron and steel with a wooden top. It has been fully restored and its new acrylic top is adjustable in height by use of counter balance weights and rotates by mechanical adjustments. The base incorporates three storage compartments; an open shelf, a drawer that swivels out and another that tilts out. Old wood top is
available at no additional charge.

MoMA Stone
MoMA Stone

This distinctive stone was acquired in the
historic demolition of the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden in New York City to make way
for the construction of the expanded Museum of Modern Art. Steeped in history, the stone once supported the weight of sculptures created by such artists as Lachaise, Matisse, Oldenburg, and Rodin.

We have taken the large paving stones and carved them into beautifully polished sink tops giving them
an entirely new lease on life. Other uses for this amazing historic stone can include paving stones
or small table tops.

Sizes range:
29"w x 30" - 41"l x 2 1/2" thick
30"w x 30" - 48"l x 1 3/4" thick

Antique Operating Lamp
Antique Operating Lamp

This antique operating lamp has been polished and restored by the artisans at our Manhattan workshops to its original condition. The lamp features a cast iron base, polished steel fixtures, and polished brass details. The lamp is precisely counter-balanced
with a weighted steel ball, and has a handle
control on the opposite end of the boom arm that directs the lamp head. In the center of the reflector,
a plaque reveals the make and model number of
this particular unit. The etching reads, “Underwriter’s Laboratory Inc., Wilmot Castle Co., Explosion Proof Operating Light”. The cast iron base sits atop four casters that make this lamp the mobile, functional piece that it was designed to be.
