Considered the godfather of Italy's post-war renaissance, Gio Ponti (1891-1979) helped spread the vision of La Dolce Vita around the world with
his masterful work in design, architecture, art and publishing. When his sublime 1958 Alitalia offices
on Fifth Ave closed its doors in the mid-nineties, the contents went to auction. Our collection from that auction includes many panels of bubble glass and cast glass cubes that were designed specifically for the space. These elements are available for current projects which would be enhanced by Gio Ponti's Italian touch of class.

One project (illustrated above) utilized the bubble glass in two custom screens. Commissioned
and designed by John Beckmann of Axis Mundi
for a landmark townhouse in Greenwich Village,
New York, the bronze, glass, cast glass and
mirrored glass screens were fabricated entirely
by us in our workshops in Manhattan.

Born into a wealthy American family, Stanford White (1853-1906) was considered to be The Gilded Age's most prominent architect. He designed houses for affluent clients and also embarked on many public and institutional buildings including the original design of The Brooklyn Museum.

The greenhouse at the Brooklyn Museum fell
into disrepair and was scheduled for demolition.
The ceiling consisted of corrugated sheets of glass
which were reinforced with steel wire. We salvaged numerous sheets of the corrugated glass in a variety of sizes, but roughly average 44'' tall x 28'' wide or
75" tall x 28" wide.

Market Pendant Light

The Market Pendant is a new light fixture incorporating a vintage enamel shade. The fixture’s clean lines give a simple ‘industrial elegance’. The original shade, in excellent condition, measures 14” dia x 7 3/4” high and the pendant is available with a minimum drop of 11 inches. The canopy and pendant are available in many finishes it can be lamped with a 100w Incandescent Medium Base bulb and is UL listed for use in DAMP environments.
