Greenwich
Designed to recall the prismatic glass fixtures that once filled the factories in a now trendy New York neighborhood, eight of these over-scaled fixtures adorn the facade of the Greenwich Hotel in TriBeCa. We made the lenses by slumping glass into a hand carved mold and fabricated the bezels with a solid brass extrusion of a profile that was designed specifically for use on these fixtures. Patinated in a rich brown finish, these bezels were intentionally left unprotected by lacquer as to accelerate the aging process. As a result, they have already begun to take on a natural patina that makes them look as if they were installed generations ago. |
